Rider Profile: Ryan Williams

Nitro: What's your favourite country to tour and why?
Ryan: My favourite country to tour would have to be the United States of America because it's home to a lot of the Nitro crew so there is always something amazing and crazy to do in between shows!

Nitro: What's it like behind the scenes on a Nitro tour?
Ryan: Being behind the scenes on the Nitro tour is every action sports athlete or daredevils dream come true. It's 40 of the most insane outgoing people you will ever meet in your life all crammed into a few tour buses stopping at every crazy destination you can think of to film a tv show and perform in the craziest show on wheels!

Nitro: Who is the funniest person on tour? And why?
Ryan: Blake 'Bilko' Williams, he's like the stand up comedian of the tour. From doing funny impersonations of everyone on tour to humping the air doing a 70 foot Cliffhanger on an FMX bike. There is never a dull moment with Bilko around!

Nitro: What has been the most embarrassing moment you've had on tour?
Ryan: There's always plenty of embarrassing moments on tour being the scooter kid but if I had to pick one it would be the time I forgot to wear my helmet during the tandem scooter jump and was forced to wear my helmet the whole next day whilst we travelled and filmed for the tv show. Definitely learnt my lesson.

Nitro: Favourite celebrity?
Ryan: My favourite celebrity would have to be Morgan Freeman, the things I would do to hear him narrate my life!

Nitro: What would you do with your last $10?
Ryan: With my last $10 I would get a taxi to the closest skatepark and try the most insane tricks I could possibly think of!

Nitro: If you had a chance to change one body part, what would it be? And why?
Ryan: If I could change one body part it would have to be my shoulder just because it's the only thing wrecked on my body right now and a new one would come in handy for the up and coming Nitro tours. Other than that I'm quite pleased with my body dimensions, if you know what I mean ;)

Contraption of the Week
"Wheelbarrow"

How is it built? Wheelbarrows were actually made to launch off 50ft high Gigant-A-Ramps. Not really. But they are surprisingly easy to convert. Just reinforce the frame, add two scooter wheels on the back legs and then give the bucket a handle.

Who rides it? No one really rides this stupid thing. Chris Haffey controls it down the ramp, and another poor crew member sits in the bucket and hopes Haffey knows what he's doing. This goes wrong pretty often so we've had to replace the bucket man a few times. Crum, Kurtis Downs, Spencer Pratt and Danny Campbell have all done their time.

Biggest Tricks: That depends on your definition of a trick, does landing on your head and then walking away qualify?
